According to the English news public, The Southampton's new owners, Sport Republic, will continue to buy four or five teams around the world.

The Sport Republic consortium, led by Serbian businessman Dragan Solak, bought Southampton because he admired the way the club was run. Although the acquisition has been completed, Southampton will not blindly spend money in the transfer market. Southampton have a reputation for developing young players and the new owners are keen to continue this pattern, giving them more room for manoeuvre in the transfer market.

Southampton head coach Thomas Huettel is looking to bolster the goalkeeper and the number 10 positions. He hopes to strengthen both positions this summer before the acquisition is completed. Now, however, given the right opportunity, Southampton may be able to complete their acquisitions earlier in the winter transfer window, but they will not be able to bring in big-name, big-money players like the Newcastle.

Southampton are the first team Sport Republic has bought anywhere in the world. The consortium plans to buy four or five teams in Europe and even the Americas in the future, with Sport Republic's second acquisition expected to be announced sometime this year.
