The Olympic Council of Asia and Tencent reach a strategic cooperation to promote e-sport.


On January 21, Beijing, the Olympic Council of Asia (hereinafter referred to as the Olympic Council of Asia) and Tencent, the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (hereinafter referred to as the Asian Electronic Sports Federation) and Tencent Esports signed a strategic partnership, aiming to jointly promote The development of Asian eSports business.


According to the strategic cooperation agreement, the Olympic Council of Asia and Tencent will carry out comprehensive cooperation from traditional sports to e-sports, covering cultural exchanges, technical personnel training, Asian event support, digital sports research, etc., to jointly promote the standardized development of the Asian e-sports industry ; Asia Electric Sports Federation and Tencent E-Sports will carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of intercontinental events, culture and talents to jointly promote the comprehensive development of e-sports in Asia.



At the signing ceremony, the Asian Electric Sports Federation also announced that the first "Asian Games Journey" event will be in-depth linkage with the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games e-sports event, and there will be teams from 45 countries and regions in Asia. The competition is fiercely contested in the exact same 8 events, and the official rankings of electronic sports Asia for each event are generated.


"The Asian Games Journey will support the formation of national teams in various e-sports events in Asian countries, which is also an important step for e-sports to enter national-level comprehensive events." said Huo Qigang, chairman of the Asian Electric Sports Federation.


It is understood that the "Asian Games Journey" event is the first official e-sports event covering all Asian countries and regions, covering the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, 2030 Doha Asian Games and other Asian Games cycles.
